Along with most of the computer literate youth of the world I am a Facebook addict. Yes, the constant checking to see if anyone has written on my wall or sent me a message, the excitement of a new friend request, and all the ridiculous applications. Except I hate most of the applications they have now. You go to your friends profile to write on their wall or just take a look at it and you have to scroll through countless boxes of junk.
As more are created (and I spend more time wasting hours on Facebook) I've started to find some that actually are interesting. One I stumbled across today is Greenbook. It is an application dedicated to reducing CO2 emissions by taking money from sponsorships of the application and offsetting the carbon footprint created from the server and computer use generated by Facebook. The idea is that the more users of the application the more sponsors will put in to it thus providing more money to offset the carbon footprint.
On the homepage for the application you can also read tips on being green and comment back on them with your own ideas. And for those of you who care about an aesthetically pleasing profile you can send trees. A little green space to your computer screen never hurt anyone!

The Begining
And so it begins...
I never thought I would have a blog, didn't really seem like my thing. I've decided that I am involved in so many different activities and am accumulating friends and acquaintances from all over the world that I wanted to have a better way to stay in touch. You'll mainly hear about my alter-ego, Ramblin' Rose and her adventures near and far but don't be surprised to see posts on Event Planning (...ie school), my ski team or the fashion world (no bother that I'm not studying it like I thought I would be :))
What you won't find here is a re-hashing of my day-to-day personal life, those of you who are close enough to know have other ways of talking to me. This is just my new way to throw my oh-so-observant commentary at whatever subject is at hand. And I'm sure it will just fabulous (I mean my life can't be that pathetically boring can it?...?)
